Regaining focus on Antibiotic Stewardship

The COVID pandemic forced most healthcare systems to shift resources away from staple programs including hospital-acquired infections, hand hygiene reporting, routine fit-testing, and antibiotic stewardship. As we get a better grip on COVID prevention, diagnosis, and treatment; as supplies are starting to level out, it is crucial that we quickly marshal resources towards these important activities that were sidelined by something more urgent.

This presentation will focus on the updated antibiotic stewardship-specific interpretive guidance from CMS and the CDC reports on the impact of COVID on antibiotic stewardship efforts.
